About Me

My name is Sasha Lenninger and I am a reporter at KOAT-TV (ABC 7) in Albuquerque, NM.

I was hired as a general assignment reporter and have worked every shift at our station. I have also been asked to fill in on the anchor desk.

Before KOAT, I was a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist for FOX 31 News (WFXL) in Albany, Georgia.

I was first hired as a live reporter and producer, then promoted to co-host and promoted again to weekend anchor.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduated Sua Cum Laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

I enjoyed internships with Arizona’s main newspaper, The Arizona Republic as a breaking news writer, KPNX Channel 12 News, assisting in finding stories, shooting stories and writing scripts while also assisting in producing Channel 12’s EVB Live show. I am currently interning with KNPX Arizona Midday, assisting in production, script writing, designing graphics as well as studio production.

I have volunteered with the Special Olympics as a basketball coach as well as with the HoopStars program, a basketball league for disabled individuals in Southern California.  I have a black belt in karate and have extensive travel experience in South East Asia as well as Europe.

In my limited spare time I try and get involved in the community by hosting and volunteering at events.

I am confident that my experiences inside and outside of the journalism arena have shaped me as a person and given me the qualifications needed to become a unique multimedia journalist, who knows how to shoot, write and edit my own stories. I am very organized individual that accelerates under pressure and who is used to work well alone or in groups. I get along very well with others and well skilled at using Final Cut Pro,  ENPS, Edius, Microsoft Office, Audacity and more. I have been told many times by my supervisors/coaches, that my deep (for a woman) voice uniquely qualifies me for broadcasting. I have dedicated myself to reporting accurate and truthful news no matter what the event may be.
